Students: If you are a student currently registered at ISM, you can participate in a project as a team member. Each team will have a team leader to be decided by the teams when applying. Each team will typically have 2-3 members. Additional details on applying will be published on the website by Mid-May 2006.
Mentor: If you are not an ISM student, you are welcome to be a mentor to one of the teams. Mentors provided overall guidance to the teams, provide feedback and encouragement and brainstorm ideas. Mentors usually have some years of industry experience, or significant experience with NGOs. You must be excited about mentoring a team of high energy students and being able to correspond and evaluate ideas on a regular basis, mostly on email, but maybe also on phone and in person. Mentors can be located almost anywhere on the planet(even in space!, we'd love an astronaut mentor ;) ) as long as they have regular access to email. Interested mentors will be able to view project ideas, or suggest their own once details for the coming year are published on this site.
NGOs: We place immense value in practical use of student ideas, and towards that end, we are looking forward to partnering with NGOs to implement good ideas, as well as give an opportunity to our fellows to learn from them, and for fellows to contribute to their cause. Each NGO will be registered with us by a very simple identification process, and we'll work closely with the NGOs to match them with projects and team members every year. Further details on participation will be made available in May 2006.
Further details on the program can be obtained by sending an email to fastforward.ism@gmail.com or individually contacting the members of the executive team [ ... ].
