Millions of Indian people die every year due to blood related diseases. A majority of these deaths can be prevented by timely donation of blood to these people. At the Central Hospital of Dhanbad alone there are around 20 patients (8 of them are kids aging below 12 years) who suffer from Thalassemia which means their body can't secrete blood and hence, they need 2 units of blood every month in order to survive.
Bloodline is an innovative voluntary blood donation system which addresses the issue of blood shortage in blood banks in India along with an inefficient process of blood usage, by providing an alternative but a complimentary database based solution. The project volunteers are currently ISM students who manage demand of blood when someone approaches with a need or in the case of emergencies. Also, the contact details of the needful persons & their relatives are added to our existing database of blood donors.
